Horse rental 
There is a horserental close by (3 km) where you can take a personal tour for one or two hours  or go with a group for longer rides, usually a day or more.

Swimming
Outdoor swimming pool is located in the sport center at Hvolsvollur and they also have hot tubs.

Eyjafjallajokull volcano Museum
The Þorvaldseyri Visitor Centre is divided into two exhibit rooms. From your first step inside, you see clear, colorful graphics and dramatic photos that both explain the volcanic and geologic forces and summarize major volcanic and historical events. This room also has a small souvenir section with a wide variety of local items.
Further inside, to the left of the entry, is a 50-seat theatre where we show our 20-minute film about the volcano eruption and how we coped with it. When the film is not showing, this room is a second exhibit hall, with huge, exciting photos of the eruption on display.  It takes 40 minutes from Fagrahlið to drive there.

Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar)
You can get there by the ferry Herjolfur which sails between Landeyjahofn located on the south coast (30 minutes from Fagrahlið).  There you have the Natural History Museum, you can sail around the islands by a guide, play golf and take a walk by the sea.  The islands are famous for the bird life in the rocks, i.e. the bird Puffin is the most famous bird.  Website:  www.vestmannaeyjar.is

At Hellisholar (2,5 km) is a beautiful 9 hole golfcourse.

Museums 
The Saga center
Fagrahlið stands in the middle of the saga sites of Njals saga, which is one of the most famous saga in Iceland.  The Saga center at Hvolsvollur is great for those who would like to know more of this great Icelandic Viking saga.
From 15.May – 15.September the Saga center is open every day from 9am – 6pm.

Bike tour:
Healthy and fun way to explore Fljotshlið, the volcanic surroundings,  the waterfalls in the hills and the biggest one is Seljalandsfoss.   We offer fully equipped quality bikes.  Every bike includes a bicycle lock and a helmet.  We have prepared a map with preferred places to visit.  This is a unique way to travel and discover the purity of the south coast nature.

Þorsmork
Þorsmork is a unique area between the three glaciers;  Myrdalsjokull, Eyjafjallajokull and Tindfjallajokull.  On the way you will see the famous waterfall Seljalandsfoss and the great effect that the eruption in Eyjafjallajokull had on the landscape.  Þorsmork is a scenic national park and has many beautiful walking paths.  Reykjavik Excursions offers daily departures from Hvolsvollur to Þorsmork from june 15 to September 11.

Fishing
The river þverá goes through Fljotshlið, where you can fish trout and  salmon.

Skogar Museum
In Skogar, there is a popular Ethnological Museum where you can learn about the living in Iceland in the ancient.  It takes about 40 minitues to drive there from Fagrahlið.

Energy night in Icelandic nature:
A walk from Fagrahlið and down to the lower part of the land of Fagrahlið.  We walk towards Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull.  People will do energy exercises in the nature.  Bonfire will be lit and people will form a circle around the bonfire where everyone tell what is on his/hers mind at that time.  This is a trip of the moment where one experiences the moment of ,,NOW”.
Afterwards, people enjoy warm chocolate with a tear of Stroh!

Landmannalaugar
Landmannalaugar, an area of recent volcanic activity, has colorful rhyolite mountains, rugged lava fields, hot springs, a mountain hut with camping site and a natural warm pool for relaxation. Landmannalaugar is also the beginning or end of the Laugavegur Hiking Route.  It takes you about one hour to drive there from Fagrahlið.
